I recently read the FastCompany article entitled “Conan O Brien: King of Social Media” and first thought that it was just another article on how many followers (1.7M and counting) Conan was able round-up.  The article does so much more than that.  It gets into the guts of the digital engine that is Conan OBrien – is a simple and intuitive site that pulls the entire Conan digital experience into a parking lot that is easy to navigate and engaging for those that have an appreciation for late night TV and Conan OBrien.  It’s an example of how digital integration can be simple and fun yet effective. 

In today’s marketplace brands can no longer afford a big idea that is too complex for ‘joe consumer’.  However, that’s precisely what’s happening; it’s as if agencies are being paid based on the volume of HTML they can generate with little emphasis on results.
